Depends on how much calcium is in each dose. You're not supposed to take more than 400mg of calcium at a time..so if you can, break it up over the day. And always take with food-I do and never have a problem with it bothering my stomach.

hmm. it says take 2 tablespoons a day and it provides you with:
400 I.U vit D
1000mg of calcium citrate
400 mg of mag
so even 1/2 of that (1 tbl) is 500mg. is this too much vits? i dont want to upset my stomach.

I take 600mg of calcium at a time for a total of at least 1200mg a day. I never had a problem. In fact, many calcium supplments come in 600mg tablets-- you should be fine with 500mg. Just make sure you drink plenty of water so everything moves along properly (enraged kidneys are on everyone's shit-list. ;D) Take some in the morning and before you go to bed.

Weather it's any help at all, I take Tums antacids for a calcium supplement with no trouble, but I couldn't tell you if Tums is vegan or not.. My guess is no but I thought I'd share anyways... :]
